The waterproofing aspect required in a new build below ground structure can be fundamental depending on its required use. The importance of choosing the right system is often overlooked as design stage with a knock on effect to the time and cost of the build project.

As a result, more and more designers are choosing waterproofing systems such as cavity drain membranes (C.D.M.) instead of more traditional methods of waterproofing a new structure. C.D.M. is deemed to be the most effective and trouble free form of waterproofing according to BS8102 for waterproofing below ground structures.
